Let's first describe the distinctions between Microblading and Powder Brows so you can choose between the two.
1. A "MICROBLADE" IS USED TO IMPLANT COLOR INTO THE SKIN IN MICROBLADING.
During your brow appointment, the pigment is physically implanted into the skin, bit by bit. Your artist creates your brow shape by dipping the micoblade into an organic vegan pigment and drawing your brow one stroke at a time!
Powder Brows delivers color to the skin using an ultra-fine tattoo needle and a Permanent Makeup (PMU) Device. Powder Brows are also known as "Ombre Brows." Powder Brows give the appearance of cosmetic powder, hence the name "Powder Brows."
2. MICROBLADING WILL TAKE LONGER TO HEAL THAN POWDER BROWS.
Microblading is more intrusive in general because the microblade penetrates deeper into the epidermis (top layers) of the skin. Micoblading healing will take about seven days in the beginning.
The recuperation time for Powder Brow, on the other hand, is only five days. Because the pigment isn't injected as deeply into the skin as Microblading, Powder Brows recover considerably faster.
3. MICROBLADING IS TYPICALLY BETTER THAN POWDER BROWS IF YOU HAVE DRY TO NORMAL SKIN.
Microblading's realism is determined by the "hair strokes" applied and your skin's capacity to mend crisply. If you have oilier skin, your treatment will produce "hair strokes," but they will be more "feathered."
If you have oily or acne-prone skin, your artist may recommend Powder Brows. Your "hair strokes" will mend adequately in your skin, but the crispness of your strokes cannot be predicted or guaranteed. However, as the PMU industry evolves, new ink formulas are developed to provide better outcomes for oilier skin types.
4. IF MICROBLADING VS. POWDER BROWS IS THE BEST PMU PROCEDURE FOR YOU, THE DESIRED OUTCOME SHOULD DETERMINE THAT.
The Art of Microbading was the catalyst for the brow makeover craze. Microblading vs. Permanent Makeup Powder brows produce the most realistic and natural appearance. If you're more of a "Naturalista" than a "Glamazon," microblading is the way to go.
Powder Brows, on the other hand, are your best bet if you desire a more defined brow! Why? Powder Brows are designed to look like a properly filled-in brow with "powder." The purpose of a Powder Brow is to appear as though you took the time to fill your brows in nicely.
5. MICROBLADING HAS LONGER-LASTING RESULTS THAN POWDER BROWS.
Microblading vs. Powder Brows normally lasts nine months if only one session is performed, or 18-36 months if both sessions are finished, depending on skin type, skin tone, and color chosen. You'll require a yearly touchup with Microblading to keep the crispness of your "hair strokes."
Power Brows can last anywhere from nine to twelve months. Period. This is due to the vegan pigment not being implanted as deeply into the epidermis. Expect to arrange your yearly touchup session roughly nine months after your first Powder Brow Session if you notice yourself filling in your brows again.
